The Alpine Yukon Snowstars program is based on level one and two of Alpine Canada's athlete development pathway. Details here.
Our program accommodates kids ages 6 -9, and is geared towards kids who already have solid skiing basics.
Sessions run on Saturdays in the winter, but will be cancelled if the temperature dips below -20.

Socks: Wool only — not thick, no cotton, no doubles
-
Face coverage: Balaclava/neck warmer (bring a spare)
-
Optional: Boot gloves — very helpful in cold temps
-
Pack "hot shots" just in case, to keep hands and feet cozy

Parent Volunteering
-
Parents are encouraged to volunteer two sessions per season, having an extra adult skiing with groups is important for safety (in case of injury) and helping younger athletes onto the chair lift
-
Lift passes are available to parents without a season's pass
-
If you don't ski, please connect with the Snowstars admin or head coach, we'll find a way for you to help!

Lunch & Breaks
-
Athletes should arrive at their session with a full stomach
-
Pack a hearty snack for your child, possibly with a warm drink such as hot chocolate
-
There's no time to buy food in the club house, the goal is a solid afternoon of skiing.
End of Day
-
Check in with coach, sign out, give back bib
-
Don't forget to bring home backpacks and lunches!
Connect with your child's coach to arrange volunteering and keep them informed about absences.
Groups do change throughout the season - we want all kids to feel safe, have fun and be in a group with skiers at a similar level.
We are looking forward to getting to know you!
